Hey, Alexa. Add “visit Zion National Park in the Fall” to my Bucket List.
Vanessa and Parker’s Zion National Park Fall Elopement was seriously such a breathtaking experience. Capturing a couple so in love is what makes my job simply the best.
I arrived in Utah a day before Parker and Vanessa’s elopement to explore and do some location scouting. This was actually my second time traveling to Zion National Park, and I must say: go in the FALL. Not only is it much cooler than in the summer, it is less crowded (which means way easier to navigate the shuttle system). Thankfully for this elopement, we didn’t need to use the shuttle. Vanessa and Parker chose a location that was accessible from the Visitor’s Center – which goes to prove: you don’t need to hike a crazy amount of miles to have an EPIC view of Zion. Don’t believe me? Just scroll 😉
Once we got onto the trail, we hiked for about a mile and a half before they said “this is it” to the perfect ceremony location. Vanessa and Parker got ready separately which added so much anticipation before their romantic first look beneath the Watchman. Because the location was absolutely stunning, they chose to do their ceremony at the same spot with 360 degree views of desert and mountains staring back at us. As if the beautiful location wasn’t enough, their intimate vows brought tears to my eyes.
After Vanessa and Parker’s ceremony and ring exchange, we wandered around shooting portraits until the moon and stars came out. I am obsessed with how the shots of the moon turned out looming over this beautiful couple. They shared their first dance during blue hour; it was the sweetest thing to witness as the nature around us was still and quiet as it observed the love of Vanessa and Parker.
This Zion National Park Fall Elopement was proof that an elopement can be truly anything you want it to be – you don’t need to be scaling mountains to say “I do” to the love of your life. Whatever your style, know that the day is yours and your partner’s – nobody else’s.
