Does it get any better than snowshoeing through the mountains with your person?! Uff da. Maggie and Jason’s Boise, Idaho Winter Adventure Session was everything I could’ve hoped for. From the fluffy blanket of snow, to the golden sunset to wrap up the day, I was in my element. 

Maggie and I knew each other from our days in college. But it doesn’t stop there – she is also a wedding photographer (and an INCREDIBLE one, at that) AND she also 2nd shoots with me! So you might be asking what the heck that has to do with being in Boise at the same time. Maggie is currently in grad school getting her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. As fate would have it, both Maggie and Jason got assigned to an internship in Boise. Once I found out I would be passing through Boise, I reached out to see if we could plan something; these two are too cute not to. 

On the day of their winter adventure session, they picked me up from my Airbnb in their truck. There’s just something about being away from your home state, but still connecting with some Minnesota faces; I love it! After traveling through the city and up a mountain, we found ourselves the perfect trail to strap on our snowshoes. I can’t even describe just how stunning the view was (you’ll know what I mean when you see the photos below). The glistening snow blanketed the pines in a fluffy layer, giving way to a sun-filled valley below. As if that wasn’t enough, we caught the perfect last minute golden hour photos in a wide-open field.

I think it’s safe to say that this session was the sweetest way to close Maggie and Jason’s chapter in Idaho. Having the opportunity to capture this Boise, Idaho Winter Adventure Session truly filled my heart to the brim. Wandering with couples who are just as in love as I am with the outdoors is just one of the many reasons I am so thankful to be an elopement photographer.
