If you’ve photographed a wedding before, you know how common it is for things to just “come up” where you find yourself wishing you had __. I have been there, my friend. But since then, I’ve vowed to never be without when I’m photographing a wedding or elopement (especially an elopement). As photographers, we frequently tell our couples to plan accordingly; bring floss, water bottles, a little scissors. But the truth is, it is just as important – if not more important – that you as a photographer are prepared for every scenario. As a full-time elopement and intimate wedding photographer based in Montana, I’ve spent years perfecting my packing lists. I’m finally ready to share it with you; let’s dive in! Here’s the ultimate Elopement Emergency Kit for Photographers.

My main goal during an elopement is to make sure my couples feel safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. As a photographer, I feel that it is my job to make sure we are all prepared for whatever comes our way. I also provide my couples with a packing list based on where they’re eloping, but I always make sure that I have us covered as well. If we are going to be in bear country, I will absolutely have bear spray with me. Or if we are headed to the desert, I will make sure we have additional water supplies, sunscreen, sun protection, etc.
Now that you know exactly what to pack in your elopement emergency kit for photographers, it’s time to hit the trails! Show me your kit on Instagram and tag me (@sydneybreannphoto) 🤩 Are you ready to wander?
