Rainy Day Bozeman, Montana Couples Session

October 19, 2022

If this Rainy Day Bozeman, Montana couples session taught me anything, it’s how underrated a rainy session can be! It’s no surprise that I love Montana in all seasons. But Montana in the Spring is something so special. Not only are there few crowds to compete with, but the state is filled with endless views of greenery. So whether you’re planning for a Spring engagement session or it just so happens to rain unexpectedly, check out these tips to survive a rainy couples session!

How to Survive a Rainy Engagement Session

Wear Neutrals that Will Stand Out

You’ve heard it time and time again from pretty much every photographer (including me). But neutrals will never go out of style. If your engagement or couples session is looking to be full of overcast skies, warm neutrals are the way to go. Warm colors will help you and your honey stand out against the haze, while still looking natural. Mustards, creams, tans, burnt oranges, etc. will be your best friend!

Bring a Clear Umbrella

Clear umbrellas are such a vibeeee. Not only will you and your honey be kept dry, but clear umbrellas just look so chic and cozy. (CLICK HERE to see them in action in a Northern Minnesota rainy wedding day). ‘Nuff said. You can snag a clear umbrella HERE! More often than not though, you can count on your photographer having one for you as well.

Stop for a Warm Beverage Before!

Okay, hear me out. This could be so cute. Picture cozy photos with you two holding your cups of coffee, strolling through the rolling hills of green or rain soaked sidewalks. Your hands will be kept warm, and you’ll look adorable!! Win-win. Alternatively, you can bring some HotHands to keep your hands toasty when tucked in your pockets.

Bring a Cozy Blanket

I get it, not every rainy day is cold. But the vast majority seem to be 😅 Bring a blanket to cozy up in either for photos or in-between! BONUS: Bring a change of dry clothes for your ride home. There’s nothing worse than sitting in wet clothes, especially if you have a long ride home.

As sad as you may initially feel to have rain during your session, there’s no need! Here’s hoping these tips help you have an incredible session, despite the precipitation. Check out these rainy day Bozeman, Montana couples session photos below to see just how beautiful overcast skies can be 🤩
