Trust me when I say: you cannot look through these photos and not feel like you’re looking at a Scotland elopement. Natalie and Kai’s moody sunset elopement in East Glacier National Park gave me all the Scotland vibes. From the vibrant green valleys beneath snow-dusted mountains to the sun struggling to peek out behind the clouds, I felt like I was in a whole other world. Photographing this summer elopement yet again reignited my absolute love of Northwest Montana.
Natalie and Kai were such a fun, carefree couple. They began their wedding day by getting ready together, before an intimate first look in their cute little a-frame cabin’s backyard. We then adventured into the park to take in as many epic views as we could fit into their day. I don’t think we could’ve asked for a more picturesque day in GNP. Something that both Natalie and Kai were super passionate about from the second they inquired with me was photos. Having me tag along on their adventure was exactly what they were looking for – someone to document their entire day.
Once we made our way into the park, Natalie and Kai enjoyed a little picnic overlooking the breathtaking mountain views. After enjoying their lunch, we drove to Many Glacier and headed down to the lake for their private vow exchange. I truly wish I was a painter so that I could replicate the beauty on a canvas, each stroke encompassing the thick clouds surrounding peaks, the gentle waves on the lake as the wind blew through the valley. But photos will just have to do!
Natalie and Kai sealed their ceremony with a kiss and a champagne toast before taking in more Scotland-esque views. They wrapped up their moody sunset elopement in Many Glacier with a small cake and letters from loved ones back home. Despite having an intimate mountain elopement, Natalie and Kai were able to feel their family and friends’ love sitting at a picnic table, from hundreds of miles away. Just another reminder that your elopement can be exactly what you have always dreamt of; no dream is “too big” for your big day.
