Where do I even begin with Mary Grace and Aaron’s Seward, Alaska summer elopement!? I was absolutely giddy about documenting their day from the very moment we first started chatting about all that they envisioned. Believe it or not, this Indiana duo didn’t have a set location in mind when they first inquired. Together, we brainstormed destinations and landed on Alaska — one of my favorite places in the world. Their carefree day began with a boat excursion and concluded with hiking beneath the midnight sun… what could be better!?

This Seward elopement began with the couple getting ready separately in their comfy sweatsuits before spending a few moments together. After spending some time strolling around the Windsong Lodge’s property, they finished getting ready before their first look. Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Miller’s Landing for a boat excursion.
We took the water taxi to Thumb Cove in Resurrection Bay. Much to our surprise, we had the entire cove to ourselves and were able to spend a couple hours exploring. We wandered the beach, crossed creeks, and enjoyed the coastal views among the mountains. A thick layer of clouds kissed the mountain tops, creating a mystical atmosphere as we explored the cove in solitude. Mary Grace and Aaron had the biggest smiles on their faces as they boarded the water taxi once again to head back to Seward.

The couple chose to split up their coverage, so we parted ways for a couple hours before Mary Grace and Aaron’s family wedding ceremony began. Back at Windsong Lodge, among wildflowers and vibrant greenery, the couple was joined by 7 of their loved ones overlooking the cloud-covered mountains. Once their outdoor wedding ceremony concluded, guests headed inside the lodge for champagne and cake.
We concluded Mary Grace and Aaron’s Seward, Alaska summer elopement with a stop at Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. The couple has a goal of visiting all of North America’s national parks, so they loved checking the fjords off their list! Looking at the photos from Exit Glacier, you would never know that it was 11 o’clock AT NIGHT. If you’ve never experienced Alaska in the summertime, it feels otherworldly. Frolicking around Kenai Fjords National Park was the perfect way to conclude this magical Alaska elopement.
