As much as I absolutely adore getting to photograph new couples and making new friends, there’s just something so special about photographing someone who I’ve known for years. Mary fits that to a T! Having known her since college, I feel like we have truly watched each other grow over the years, which made capturing her sunrise engagement session in Grand Teton National Park that much more special.
Sometimes, it feels like my college days weren’t that long ago… And other times, it feels like I’ve lived 3 other lives since then. But no matter how long ago those days were, I was thankful enough to walk away with some of the dearest lifelong friends anyone could ever ask for. It was also in college when my photography career really kicked off. And I vividly remember Mary telling me, “when I get engaged, you’re taking allll the photos.” Well, flash forward to this past August when it HAPPENED!
Grand Teton National Park Sunrise Engagement
Mary was on a clinical rotation for her Doctor in Physical Therapy program in Wyoming — just a short drive from Grand Teton National Park. So you bettt I just hopped right in my car and drove down to the Tetons for the weekend to photograph Mary and Bailey’s sweet engagement session in the mountains. We kicked off our time together with blue hour and sunrise at Schwabacher Landing, accompanied by the warm glow of lanterns, of course. The views were immaculate. After watching the most amazing pink sunrise, Mary and Bailey had an outfit change before frolicking in the sage brush.
Once the morning haze lifted a bit, Mary and Bailey made one more outfit change before we ended our time together at Mormon Row. But we weren’t alone! We were greeted by several MOOSE! It was such a fun way to end a quick weekend in Wyoming, documenting this sweet couple’s sunrise engagement session in Grand Teton National Park. I can’t wait for their wedding in October!
