I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not normally an early riser. But you can guarantee I become one real quick when it’s required for a sunrise elopement. Waking up while the moon was still high in the sky was 100% worth it to photograph Kylee and Andrew’s sunrise elopement at Sun Point. (Seriously, I slept in my car and met them at 4am). Celebrating alongside these Virginia lovers made for such a magical early September day.

Like many sweet couples that elope in the mountains, Kylee and Andrew love an adventure in a national park. After getting engaged at New River Gorge National Park, they set their sites on GNP and never looked back. They envisioned saying “I do” at sunrise, exploring the area, and having photos that captured their authentic love for one another. Sun Point was the perfect location, offering expansive views featuring St. Mary Lake and alpine trees blanketing the majestic mountainsides.

When Kylee and Andrew’s wedding morning arrived, they got ready at their vacation rental at 4am before sharing their first look by the fireside. We then made the drive into Glacier National Park, where the moon still hung high in the sky. The couple shared their vows and exchanged rings overlooking St. Mary Lake. The crisp morning air lingered as we took in the magical views at Sun Point, but we couldn’t be bothered. It was such a beautiful early morning spent exploring!

The first half of our day together concluded with portraits at Rising Sun and a breakfast picnic at Red Eagle Trailhead. The sun was still hidden behind clouds as Kylee and Andrew snacked on mini pancakes and sipped on Coors Banquets. We then took a break before meeting up in the afternoon at Two Medicine Lake. The sun was trying to emerge from the cloud coverage as we strolled along the shore, taking in the breathtaking views. Kylee and Andrew frolicked in the open fields before we made our way to a waterfall for some photo ops. As we emerged from the forest, we were finally greeted with some warm sunshine!

The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring Glacier National Park beneath the golden sunshine. We visited several overlooks, spoiled by perfect lighting, blue skies, and lush greenery. After taking in the scenery, we made our way to Big Bend (a favorite of all my couples). Late summer wildflowers were in bloom, hanging onto the last bits of warmth. Before heading to Logan Pass, we even spotted a few deer grazing in the valley!

Kylee and Andrew’s adventurous elopement concluded with golden hour bridal portraits at Logan Pass, followed by some lantern portraits at dusk. It was the perfect end to a long, fulfilling day spent exploring Glacier National Park.

Kylee and Andrew’s adventurous sunrise elopement at Sun Point was a day that I won’t soon forget. Not to sound like a broken record, but these images are hands-down some of my favorites. I mean, can you blame me?! While you will probably catch me saying the same thing on the next blog (I just love my couples so much), be sure to stay tuned!
