No matter how much I love to see Glacier National Park full in sunshine and blue skies, I’m a sucker for a moody moment. Cheryl and Thomas’ moody Glacier National Park elopement was straight out of a storybook; I couldn’t possibly be more grateful to have spent the day with them celebrating their love.
Cheryl and Thomas traveled all the way from South Carolina to tie the knot in the mountains of Montana. They decided to leave the kiddos and pups back at home to spend some quality time together for their private elopement. Capturing such an intimate elopement for a couple so in love fills my heart to the brim. And getting to capture their elopement in Glacier?! Even better!
I began my day at 3:00 am to meet Cheryl and Thomas at their adorable a-frame cabin in Coram, Montana. When I arrived at just before 5:00 am, we took some beautiful getting ready shots and captured their details by light of lanterns. What a vibe. Thomas’ cowboy hat paired with Cheryl’s sequin boots were such a fun addition for their mountain elopement. We began our day together with some sunrise portraits at Big Bend, with wildfire haze blanketing the mountains and valleys alike.
It felt like we were just in our own little world (highly recommend getting to GNP for sunrise to have the most private experience). After capturing some romantic portraits, we drove up to Sun Point for their intimate ceremony. Sun Point was calm and secluded, which made their exchanging of vows that much more special. We were simply in awe of the beautiful place we had all to ourselves.
Now it wouldn’t be a mountain elopement without sharing a PBR, would it?! After we took some more portraits of the newlyweds, they sat atop a blanket to sip some beers and take in the incredible views. We took a leisurely hike down to a field, surrounded by GNP’s stunning mountains. Cheryl and Thomas shared their first dance in a field of gold. As if the day had been perfectly written just for them, the rain came as we wrapped up.
Cheryl and Thomas’ moody Glacier National Park elopement was absolutely perfect. From beginning our day in the dark, moving about only by light of the lanterns, to a calm morning ceremony… It was such a joy to capture such a sweet chapter for these two Southern lovers.
