Being a photographer is one of the greatest joys of my life (in case I haven’t told you that enough already). Not only have I gotten to travel to some of the most incredible, unimaginable places, but I have met some of my best friends because of my job. Back in 2021, I randomly met Hunter (Chear Media) at a New Year’s Day wedding (he was videoing, I was photographing!). Flash forward to this past Fall, I had the honor of photographing his Sioux Falls, South Dakota Fall engagement session with his sweet fiancé, Kallee. Talk about “fate”.
Kallee and Hunter knew they wanted their engagement session to take place close to home, and be a low-key kinda moment. They settled on the stunning Palisades State Park (just a half hour NE of Sioux Falls). As a Montana based elopement and intimate wedding photographer, I’ve experienced some pretty incredible places while photographing moments for my couples. But Palisades State Park really blew my mind for the midwest! Located on just over 150 acres, this small gem features dramatic rock formations made from pink Sioux Quartzite.
We spent our time at Palisades State Park soaking up the last bits of summer heat, and ended it with the prettiest sunset. Kallee and Hunter decided to do two outfits – one classy ‘fit, and one casual! I love when my couples choose some contrasting vibes for their outfits. It’s safe to say that I cannot wait to photograph this sweet couple’s wedding this summer. But I am even more excited for him to be the videographer for my wedding (sorry, friends 😅)!! Cheers to the sweetest friendships and the raddest job.
Capturing Kallee and Hunter’s Sioux Falls, South Dakota Fall engagement was the perfect way to wrap up summer. It’s no surprise, but I’m looking forward to warm days like these ahead!
