Looking for an “off-the-beaten-path” kind of elopement? Although I may be a tad biased, Montana is the perfect place to wander with your person. As a full-time Montana elopement and intimate wedding photographer, many of my couples have chosen to elope in Glacier National Park. However, there are so many beautiful places to elope beyond GNP. So if you’re looking to create your own adventure and find the best Bozeman, Montana elopement locations, look no further. Spoiler alert: I’ve yet to see an “ugly” location in Montana. So let’s get into it!

5 Bozeman, Montana Elopement Locations

Fairy Lake

Fairy Lake is a popular destination near Bozeman, MT that draws couples in with its scenic beauty and tranquil atmosphere. The hike to Fairy Lake is approximately 0.8 miles round trip and can take about 20min-1 hour to complete depending on the amount of stops. The lake features lush greenery, towering mountains, and a waterfall that adds to the picturesque scenery. Couples can exchange vows on the lake’s shoreline or have an intimate ceremony on one of the many trails that lead to the lake.

Beehive Basin

Beehive Basin is another popular location for a wedding or elopement near Bozeman. The hike to Beehive Basin is around 6 miles round trip and takes approximately 3-6 hours. The basin is nestled in the mountains – surrounded by wildflowers, aspen groves, and stunning views of Lone Mountain. Couples can choose to say their vows on one of the many ridges or take advantage of the crystal clear waters of the alpine lake for a stunning ceremony backdrop.

Hyalite Reservoir/Canyon

Hyalite Reservoir/Canyon is a stunning location near Bozeman that is perfect for couples looking for a scenic outdoor wedding. Located at the end of a beautiful canyon surrounded by mountains, forests, and crystal clear waters, the views are unmatched. There are tons of hikes in the area, ranging from easy with minimal elevation to see waterfalls, or longer hikes to explore more of the canyon. Couples can choose to have a ceremony on the shores of the reservoir or in the tall trees surrounding.

Bridger Bowl + Bridger Mountain Area

Bridger Bowl is a ski resort near Bozeman that offers a unique location for couples to tie the knot. If you are into skiing, this is the place! The resort offers a stunning backdrop of the mountains and valleys below. Couples can choose to have their ceremony on one of the many trails, on a ski lift, or at one of the lodges. In the summer, the area is stunning to hike and enjoy the forest when there is no hustle and bustle of the winter. The location is easily accessible and is perfect for couples who love the outdoors and want a memorable wedding experience.

Ousel Falls

Ousel Falls is a beautiful location near Bozeman that is perfect for couples looking for a short and easy hike to a stunning waterfall. The hike to the waterfall is just over 1.5 miles round trip and takes around 30 minutes. The waterfall is surrounded by towering trees, lush greenery, and stunning rock formations. Couples can choose to have a ceremony near the waterfall or on one of the many trails that lead to it. One of my favorite times to shoot the falls is in the winter. The frozen streams of water create a stunning backdrop!

Big Sky

Big Sky is a popular ski resort near Bozeman that offers a stunning location for couples to get married. The resort offers a panoramic view of the mountains and valleys below, making it a perfect location for an outdoor wedding. Couples can choose to have their ceremony on one of the many trails, at the top of the mountain, or at one of the lodges. The location is easily accessible and offers a unique and memorable wedding experience.
