Every little bit of Kim and Danny’s intimate sunrise wedding in Grand Teton National Park left me in awe. From the most beautiful sunrise first look, to the couple’s intentionality behind each detail, it was hard not to shed some tears. Witnessing Kim and Danny’s closest people celebrating them was the perfect testimony to just how deserving they are. It was such an honor to document this chapter in their love story.
Kim and Danny’s day began with an early morning sunrise first look overlooking the most beautiful bright orange alpenglow from Jackson Lake Lodge. As a Northwest Montana elopement and intimate wedding photographer, I’ve spent a ton of time researching different national parks to elope in. Grand Teton National Park has made it so dang easy for couples to get married in the presence of the most immaculate views, and it leaves me speechless every time I get to capture a couple there! The grand picture windows highlighted the mountains with alpenglow as Kim and Danny embraced for the first time before heading out for some portraits.
When we made it outside, we were welcomed by a vibrant rainbow peaking out behind some lush green pine-blanketed hills. It’s not too often that a wedding day begins so early, but it was honestly something that I’d love to see more of. It felt like we had the entire area to ourselves before the hustle and bustle of the day really set in. Having the opportunity to capture Kim and Danny’s love from sun up to sun down was also incredible.
As we wrapped up sunrise bridal portraits, we watched the rain come in as we headed into the park for some hiking. Kim and Danny were so easy going and embraced the moody vibes, sprinkling rain, and of course the clear umbrella vibes. Once we ventured out of the “rain forest” of pines, we headed into a wide-open field for some rainy portraits. Kim’s hair was drenched and her dress was covered in mud along the hem. But they honestly couldn’t have been bothered – talk about a dream couple.
It was hard to believe that by this point, Kim and Danny’s wedding day hadn’t even really began! We headed back to Jackson Lake Lodge for a quick nap and a refresh. To our surprise, we were greeted with warm sunshine once it was time for their intimate ceremony. The mountains looked as stunning as ever, as if they had been hand-painted into the background.
The rest of the day was spent celebrating; from cocktails and champagne, to enjoying a yummy dinner overlooking the same mountains that graced us from the beginning of the day. After the cake cutting and some dancing, Kim and Danny snuck away for some sunset portraits amidst the bright shining sun. It was so hard to believe that just 12 hours earlier, the mountains were painted in bright orange. But even they didn’t shine nearly as bright as the newlyweds, dancing in the field.
Capturing Kim and Danny’s intimate sunrise wedding at Grand Teton National Park was truly one for the books. I’ll be dreaming about this one for a long time…
