I don’t mean to brag or anything, but I’m 100% convinced that I have the best couples. As a Montana elopement and intimate wedding photographer, I’m so grateful to be surrounded by couples who love the outdoors just as much as I do. When Ashley and Tim reached out with the vision of encapsulating their passions of nature, hiking, and fishing, I was sold. Their Glacier National Park fly fishing engagement felt like I was simply spending the day as a fly-on-the-wall (no pun intended) with an adventurous couple. 

Adventurous Fly Fishing Engagement Session

Ashley and Tim are two of the coolest people I’ve met; truly a couple after my own heart. They first met when they were both working at Yellowstone National Park in the summer of 2017. What began as an unglamorous meet-cute in the laundry department turned into spending the summer adventuring as friends. It wasn’t until the end of the summer that they finally went on their first date. As if foreshadowing a lifetime of adventures together, they went fly fishing on the Yellowstone River before enjoying the rest of their first date. Flash forward a few years , they settled down just outside of Glacier National Park to keep the fun times rolling. 

Highlighting the beauty of Montana was at the forefront of Ashley and Tim’s minds when they began planning session. We began their early October engagement session by taking a row boat out onto a lake near GNP to take in the picturesque views of Northwest Montana. If you’re an avid blog reader, you’ll know that my husband and I love being out on the water. I floated in my Packraft beside Ashley and Tim, enjoying the serene moment.

After spending some time enjoying the early afternoon sunshine on the lake, we headed up the road to GNP. Surprisingly enough, Ashley and Tim hadn’t gotten to spend much time exploring the park, so I loved getting to share some of my favorite spots with them! We wrapped up their Glacier National Park fly fishing engagement with an epic orange alpenglow before cracking open some beers and enjoying an evening picnic. I don’t think their day could’ve been more tailored to them if we tried!
