I’m a firm believer that there is never a bad time to elope in Glacier National Park. While some months are far more favorable than others to travel to Northwest Montana, there’s just something about the vibrant Fall foliage that comes with October. When Courtney and Shaun first inquired, they weren’t 100% sold on a particular date, but they were captivated by the beauty of the mountains. Their Glacier National Park fall elopement at Sun Point came together as beautifully as the landscape stretching beneath the mountains.
Courtney and Shaun traveled to Montana all the way from California with their sweet pup Cash in tow. When we first chatted about their Fall elopement in the mountains, their “non-negotiables” list was short and sweet. These California-lovers just wanted to get married in a beautiful place, and include their pup. One of my favorite parts of being a Montana Elopement and Intimate Wedding Photographer is helping my couple’s wedding day dreams come to life. With Courtney and Shaun, the entire elopement planning process was a breath of fresh air. Having their short list in mind, it was a breeze to put together their October elopement in Glacier National Park.
This dreamy Northwest Montana elopement began in Columbia Falls at a cozy Airbnb. After Courtney and Shaun’s first look (with Cash, of course) we all headed to GNP for private vow exchange and bridal portraits. Like clockwork, the vibrant purple wildflower fields that once blanketed the valleys below had quickly transitioned to the warm hues of Fall. We soaked up the endless views, overcast skies, and gentle breeze before making our way to Sun Point. The sun spilled over St. Mary Lake while Courtney and Shaun exchanged vows surrounded by the dramatic mountains.
Once the “I do’s” had been said, the iconic trio enjoyed a picnic of charcuterie and gluten-free cake. The sun began to set and gave way to moody cloud cover. After a cool rainstorm passed through the park, we enjoyed the last bits of daylight with lantern portraits.
Courtney and Shaun’s Glacier National Park Fall elopement at Sun Point couldn’t have possibly been more picturesque. And of course, make sure to follow along on the ‘Gram to keep up with my latest travels + swoon-worthy couples. Until next time, are you ready to wander?
