Adventurous Intimate Wedding at Sun Point

January 22, 2026

Blue hour lantern bridal portraits at Big Bend in Glacier National Park

Let me just kick off this blog by saying that Andreanna and Reese were a couple after my own heart. From the moment I received their inquiry, I was stoked to hop on a call with them and learn more about what they envisioned for their Glacier National Park elopement. These two adventurous PhD biology students have a huge passion for hiking in the mountains, and they wanted nothing more than to do exactly that — but with just a few more people included. Andreanna and Reese’s adventurous intimate wedding at Sun Point was family-centered and included plenty of hiking. It was a perfect (albeit windy) day spent in Glacier National Park.

Adventurous Intimate Wedding | Sun Point Wedding Ceremony

Andreanna and Reese have spent the past 7 years of their relationship visiting numerous national parks. From the Channel Islands to Mount Rainer, they’ve loved every step along the way. So I knew they were going to be absolutely blown away by all the beauty Northwest Montana had to offer. Their wedding day began at a beautiful VRBO just outside of Glacier National Park in Coram, MT. Friends and family gathered to get ready, which is always one of my favorite parts of an intimate wedding. There is just something about the excitement buzzing about in the air that makes every wedding day feel new and exciting.

After the bride and groom were ready, they shared an emotional first look beneath a towering canopy of trees on the property. Reese had the best reaction to seeing Andreanna. It was so evident that they were just so giddy about getting their day started. Once they had spent a few moments together, we headed back inside for finishing touches before making the drive to Sun Point for their intimate wedding ceremony.

If you’re an avid reader of the blog, you’ll know that while Sun Point offers some of the most majestic, iconic views in Glacier National Park, it is also infamous for an insane amount of wind. Despite the whipping winds, Andreanna and Reese’s wedding ceremony couldn’t have been more special. Loved ones shared readings, and the couple exchanged handwritten vows before saying, “I do”. Everyone celebrated the newlyweds with a champagne toast overlooking St. Mary Lake before we breezed through group photos.

What’s an adventurous elopement in the mountains without a picnic!? After wrapping up group photos, guests dined on an expansive charcuterie board from Montana Picnic Co. and yummy cupcakes from Mountain Mama’s Cupcakery. It was a great way to fuel up before adventuring alongside Andreanna and Reese for the rest of the day.

Because I knew this couple loves to hike, we were able to set aside some time to stroll along some trails. We took bridal portraits along a pull-off, and of course at Sun Point. Despite some sprinkles and the howling wind, I loved capturing the genuine smiles spread across Andreanna and Reese’s faces. Once we reached Logan Pass, the clouds began to clear and gave way to peeks of blue. Golden sunshine lit up the valley among the low-hanging clouds as the newlyweds strolled along the trails.

We spent quite a bit of time hiking the trails at Logan Pass and taking in every breathtaking view. I always practice Leave No Trace Principals (and encourage my couples to do the same). But it’s always nice to have couples who already adhere to the preservation of our beautiful lands — it makes adventuring that much more enjoyable. After hiking a few dirt trails, we made our way to the boardwalk where we were greeted with a jaw-dropping sherbet sunset.

Glacier National Park Elopement Planning

Andreanna and Reese’s adventurous intimate wedding at Sun Point concluded with a magical blue hour at Big Bend. All-in-all, they had a little bit of everything during their wedding day. Wind, rain, slivers of blue skies, a breathtaking watercolored sunset, and a dreamy blue hour.
