Springtime in Montana is a hit-or-miss kinda thing. Growing up in Minnesota, I’m no stranger to the seasons, and luckily, neither were Josie and Bobby. This sweet couple traveled to Bozeman from Minnesota for a sunset engagement session – and naturally, Mother Nature had other plans in mind. We decided to meet up the next morning for sunrise, but were met with clouds. Luckily, this sweet couple was as “go-with-the-flow” as they come. And their springtime engagement photos in Bozeman, Montana actually reminded me of one of my favorite things to photograph: adventure sessions. 

Adventurous Engagement Session

If you’re not very familiar with the term “adventure session”, let me fill you in! An adventure session is just as it sounds: making an adventure out of your photoshoot. So whether that means traveling states away (maybe your favorite summer vacation destination), or hiking a trail in a nearby state park, you can have an adventure session. As an intimate wedding and elopement photographer, I love any excuse to capture an in-love couple in their element.

Adventure sessions are also a great way to still have an experience if you choose not to elope. Many couples opt for still having a traditional wedding, but decide to travel for their engagement sessions. The more I think of it… The title of my website could be “Sydney Breann: Queen of ‘Do What You Want’!” because I am such a firm believer in doing what you want. Whether it be for your engagement session, elopement, or wedding. You deserve to have exactly what you’ve always dreamt of. 

Josie and Bobby’s Springtime engagement photos in Bozeman, Montana served as such a welcome reminder of exactly that. Josie and Bobby travel to Kalispell annually for vacation. However, they decided to get married in a completely different place in Montana to fuel their adventurous souls. Whatever sounds ‘natural’ or ‘easier’ doesn’t always have to be what you decide to do. You really can have your cake + eat it too, friend. So if you’ve taken nothing from this blog except for “do what you want”, that’s fine by me.
