If you’re an avid reader of the blog, you’ll know that I am a huge fan of 2-day elopements. After all, who wouldn’t want to keep the party going!? Cheyenne and Tristan’s Lake Josephine and Grinnell Lake 2-day hiking elopement in Glacier National park was no exception. Day 1 focused around hiking, exploring, and a ceremony. Which meant day 2 was left open for a slow-paced, leisurely sunset picnic. But the highlight of this dreamy elopement? Just keep reading!
As a Montana and Glacier National Park elopement photographer, I’m lucky enough to meet so many wonderful couples from all across the US. Cheyenne and Tristan traveled all the way from Georgia for their adventurous mountain elopement. When I read their inquiry, my interest was immediately peaked. They were wanting to hike and take in the epic views of GNP. Talk about sold!
Day 1 of Cheyenne and Tristan’s elopement took us on a 9.5 mile hike. The hike took us past Lake Josephine and all the way to Grinnell Lake. Accompanying a couple who is as adventurous and ambitious as these two was such a joy! Despite hitting the trail in the middle of the day, Cheyenne and Tristan’s mid-July elopement boasted the most perfect weather. We were even rewarded with some icy cold water, courtesy of the brilliant blue glacier-fed lake — perfect way to cool off before tying the knot! As if our blood hadn’t been pumping enough, we spotted a bear near the creek we were passing; what an adrenaline rush! Before their intimate sunset ceremony, Cheyenne and Tristan relaxed on the shores of Lake Josephine with some cards, snacks, and beverages.
Once the “I do’s” were exchanged, we headed up to Logan Pass for some absolutely unbelievable stargazing shots. I simply cannot put into words just how magical it was to capture the Milky Way and such a once-in-a-lifetime moment for Cheyenne and Tristan. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to wrap up day one of their 2-day hiking elopement in Glacier National Park!
Not to sound like a broken record, but it doesn’t get much better than a 2-day elopement. Because Cheyenne and Tristan had traveled for their elopement, they knew that they wanted day 2 to be documented and include a fun activity. While day 1 was full of hiking and “traditional” wedding formalities, day 2 was a chance to relax and reflect on their beautiful elopement. Cheyenne wore a stunning vintage, silver sequined dress, and we took some beautiful golden hour portraits before ending their 2-day elopement with a sunset picnic overlooking the valley below.
Cheyenne and Tristan’s 2-day hiking elopement in Glacier National Park was yet another reminder of just how much I love this job. Helping couples create the day of their dreams is something I will never take lightly. Whether my couples are seeking an epic adventure or a laid-back intimate ceremony, they deserve exactly that.
