Celebrating my couples is so dang easy when they are as in love as Anttonyia and Brody. From the second they filled out an inquiry form for their September elopement, they knew exactly what they wanted; to go with the flow, enjoy the views, and soak up quality time with their people. No matter how many elopements I’ve photographed in Glacier National Park, this one just felt so unique and I loved every second of it. Anttonyia and Brody’s sunrise hiking elopement in Glacier National Park was the perfect example of throwing tradition out the window.
Anttonyia and Brody’s love story is a tale as old as time (or at least, “time” in the modern world). I remember reading their inquiry and literally laughing out loud; Anttonyia wrote “it’s a classic ‘we swiped right’ story”. But my favorite part is that their first date literally lasted 24 hours because the vibes were just vibing. After a year of endless FaceTime dates and weekend drives to one another, Anttonyia pulled a fast one on Brody and proposed to him at a college football game!
What initially appealed to these midwestern lovers was the alpine lakes, forests, and mountain views of Glacier National Park. On the morning of their mountain elopement, we woke up super early to head into the park for some bridal portraits with lanterns at dusk. I can’t even express just how dreamy the moonlight peaking out around the mountains was. To say that the anticipation was real as Anttonyia and Brody snuggled up under a blanket would be an understatement. A short time later, daylight broke; despite the overcast sky, they had the most beautiful intimate ceremony in the presence of 3 of their closest friends.
After some romantics by the water, as the sun finally began to peak out, Anttonyia and Brody changed into some hiking clothes to gear up for their 7 mile hike to Grinnell Lake. We lucked out with blue skies and warm sunshine. We had such a blast spotting grazing sheep, crossed some fun bridges, and enjoyed every second of being immersed in the mountain air of Montana. But the highlight of the hike was witnessing the crew jump into the glacial lake! The water was literally feet-numbing cold, but these troopers didn’t hold back. I still shiver just thinking about it!
Anttonyia and Brody’s sunrise hiking elopement in Glacier National Park was such a fun day to capture. Witnessing a couple’s vision come to life is one of the best parts of being an elopement photographer.
