If there was an elopement had the slogan of “nothing fancy, just love”, it would absolutely be Hailey and Jacob’s windy sunset elopement at Many Glacier. Traveling all the way from Pennsylvania, they couldn’t have been more excited to start their lives together. The picturesque views, a leisurely hike, and intimate ceremony at Many Glacier brought their vision to life beautifully.
On a sunny June day at the St. Mary Village, Hailey and Jacob got ready separately for their adventure overlooking the Divide Creek. The warm sunshine on the deck as Hailey’s mom laced her dress up was welcomed, as the breeze whipped through the trees. To no surprise, Hailey’s dress was the perfect vibe for a windy mountain elopement! After the finishing touches were made, we headed to the 1913 Ranger Station for Hailey and Jacob’s first look. It’s not too often that I witness a couple actually speechless during a first look, but Jacob’s big smile said it all! Once the words were flowing again, we embraced the clear skies and sunshine at the Ranger Station before driving to Many Glacier.
After reaching Many Glacier, we marveled in the endless beauty of the rugged terrain. While June is definitely the beginning of tourist season in Glacier National Park, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. And witnessing Hailey twirling through the fields, her dress floating in the breeze was the epitome of “oh, how I love being a woman”. The way Jacob’s eyes lit up as he watched his bride just be in her moment was so pure.
We then went for a hike down to the iconic Lake Josephine. Honestly, one of the biggest challenges of photographing an elopement in Glacier National Park is narrowing down photo locations to just a few! But Hailey and Jacob’s “wish list” was easy to obtain. They wanted to experience the vast terrain of the park, so Lake Josephine topped the list. After bridal portraits on the shore, we made our way back to a picnic area. They enjoyed some celebratory champagne before setting out for their intimate wedding ceremony.
While we explored several areas, Hailey and Jacob’s windy sunset elopement at Many Glacier felt very care-free and effortless. Each stop for portraits felt effortless and easy… which was exactly what Hailey and Jacob were hoping for. After a sweet intimate ceremony officiated by Jacob’s step-dad, we set out to enjoy the last bits of sunshine before parting ways.
Photographing intentional elopements that directly reflect the couple makes my job almost too easy. When a couple is so certain about exactly what they envision for their day, we’re able to sort the details out ahead of time to ensure they have a stress-free, relaxed elopement day. I am so grateful to be trusted with documenting so many couples’ favorite days. I can say with full certainty that it will never get old.
