I’m of the opinion that honeymooning in the mountains is always a good idea. As a Montana elopement photographer, I’m lucky enough to get to explore the mountains alongside madly in-love couples all the time! Whether it be spent by photographing sunrise vows above an alpine lake or an intimate picnic of PB&Js, there’s no place I’d rather be. So when Brittany and Matt inquired about a Glacier National Park honeymoon adventure session, you bet I was stoked.
Virginia might be for lovers (including Brittany and Matt), but Montana is for breathtaking views. This sweet couple flew into Kalispell with the intention of roadtripping back home to Virginia. They had never been to Glacier National Park before, so it was the perfect way for them to begin their journey together. Brittany and Matt were carefree about the entire experience, despite only have 2 days to enjoy Glacier National Park. When I asked what they envisioned for their day, their ‘list’ was pretty straight forward. Rather than a specific view or activity, their top priority was documenting their relationship and personalities in the most romantic way possible.
Brittany and Matt’s Glacier National Park honeymoon adventure session began in the fireweed at Big Bend. This entire summer in Glacier National Park was filled with couples frolicking through the fireweed meadows, and I couldn’t possibly have loved it more. Brittany and Matt couldn’t have asked for a better early evening to do the same. Their Western wedding attire popped beautifully against the vibrant greenery and snowcapped mountains in the background. Brittany’s ivory rustic long-sleeve gown next to Matt’s jeans and suit jacket were the perfect pairing for their romantic adventure session.
After spending some time taking in the beauty at Big Bend, we walked part of the Hidden Lake trail. Brittany and Matt strolled along the boardwalk, hand-in-hand, taking in the endless views. Before parting ways, we were spoiled with a warm alpenglow to wrap up a beautiful evening in the park.
