As a Glacier National Park elopement photographer, I can say with 100% certainty that Sun Point always delivers. Whether it’s a day with full sunshine, or a moody sky overhead, it’s hard to complain when you’re surrounded by the most breathtaking views in Northwest Montana. Emilee and Nick’s intimate wedding ceremony at Sun Point was brimming with sunshine, a perfect breeze, and views of snowcapped mountains. What more could you ask for!?

Intimate Wedding Ceremony at Sun Point | Glacier National Park Wedding
Emilee and Nick traveled to Northwest Montana from a small town in Georgia with just under 20 of their loved ones in tow. After Emilee’s sister’s recent wedding, the couple decided they were more drawn to a laidback elopement than a traditional wedding. And after discovering just how beautiful it is to elope in Montana, they were sold on a Glacier National Park elopement. When their wedding day arrived, they got ready at their Columbia Falls Airbnb before making their way to the park separately.
After a two hour drive into the park, we arrived at Sun Point for the couple’s intimate wedding ceremony. The sun shined high in the sky, twinkling over St. Mary Lake down below. Emilee and Nick’s pastor traveled all the way from Georgia to perform their ceremony, which was so touching to see. Surrounded by their loved ones, Emilee and Nick said, “I do” overlooking the snowcapped mountains they longed to see.
Following their ceremony, we took some newlywed portraits while the couple’s loved ones headed to the picnic area to set up a delicious spread of charcuterie, sandwiches, and desserts. Once we wrapped up portraits at Sun Point, Emilee and Nick cut their cake and enjoyed their celebration alongside their favorite people. We took group photos in the picnic area before I snagged the newlyweds for an afternoon adventure around the park. The first stop on our adventure was the Glacier National Park entrance sign overlooking snowy mountains — a “must have” on the couple’s list.

Eloping in Glacier National Park
As the sun began its descent, we made our way to an open field. The grass was the perfect golden color, untouched from any of the snow. The sun was just beginning to dip behind the mountains, which bathed us in a warm glow until it finally dipped below. Luckily, we still had some daylight left to make some stops at an overlook and Many Glacier. Once we arrived to Many Glacier, Emilee’s hairstylist assisted with an updo. I absolutely loved her second look! Before we knew it, blue hour emerged which was the perfect opportunity to bust out the lanterns. It was truly the perfect way to conclude another beautiful day in Glacier National Park.
Celebrating Emilee and Nick’s intimate wedding ceremony at Sun Point, followed by adventuring alongside them, was exactly why I love my job so much. There’s something so special about being trusted with documenting a couple’s best day ever.
