The iconic John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans.”
Wow! What a year. 2021 was a huge year not only personally, but professionally as well. I had a year full of travel and road trips, rebranding SD Photography to Sydney Breann Photography, graduation from college, starting photography full-time, shooting my first destination wedding, turning Sydney Breann Photography into a Team, and SO MUCH MORE.
My boyfriend and I road tripped to Colorado for a winter getaway. We explored Rocky Mountain National Park together and it was such a beautiful time to experience the park. I also created a partnership with Chear Media to provide an incredible photo and video experience for wedding couples.
I pushed through my final semester of college. Many, many hours of studying during this time… but the end was in sight!
SD Photography officially became Sydney Breann Photography! Such a pivotal moment in my career as I truly broadened my horizons and created a brand for my business. I also traveled to New York for my best friend’s bridal shower. Of course, I had to check out Niagara Falls.
Sydney Breann Photography interviewed and hired 2 team members – Abi and Emmie.
I graduated college (and no, I didn’t actually study photography in school)! To celebrate, my boyfriend and I road tripped through Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. We explored 8 National Parks together.
I had the honor of traveling to New York again to be the maid of honor in my best friend’s wedding.
I shot my FIRST destination wedding in California and finally met my virtual best friend (who is now my REAL best friend, Laura of Laura Minor Photography!). We shot a wedding together on Catalina Island. Be sure to check out my recap of the Catalina Island destination wedding here.
I attended a styled shoot in Iowa with some friends, which was so much fun! Honestly though, this month was a blur. I was so busy with 2021 weddings during this time.
Another hectic month full of weddings! My boyfriend and I ended up buying (and painting) a truck topper so we can start truck camping in his old 1996 Dodge Ram. We can’t wait to use it!
Laura came to visit me in Minnesota to experience the beautiful Fall colors. We traveled Up North, went camping, and just enjoyed spending some time together! I also traveled to San Francisco and the California wine country with my college roommates in October. A month full of friends and a full heart.
Big shocker here… I flew back out to California to visit Laura! We attended a content day, road tripped from California to Zion National Park (click for my most recent blog – Zion National Park Fall Elopement), and then to Joshua Tree National Park.
Ethan and I rang in the New Year together and can’t wait for what 2022 has in store for us.
It goes without saying that this year was full of exponential growth. I am so thankful to be in a career that I am so deeply in love with that allows me the freedom to travel and interact with amazing people. I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
Be sure to head over to my Blogs to catch up on some content from 2021. If you’re Ready to Wander, head over to my homepage to take a look at my travel schedule (scroll to the bottom). And as always, keep up with my day-to-day adventures and content over on Instagram (@sydneybreannphoto). Cheers to 2022!
